Low Carb Puppy Chow for those on a Diet!
LOW CARB PUPPY CHOW
4 cups pork rinds, 1 1/2 ounces 1/4 cup low carb chocolate chips
2 tablespoons natural peanut butter
1 tablespoon butter
1/8 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup granular Splenda
Directions:
Chop the pork rinds into 1-inch pieces and place in a large mixing bowl. Make sure not to include any crumbs. Put the chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter in a small microwaveable bowl. Microwave on 50% power until melted, about 1 to 1 1/2 minutes, stirring after half the time. Do not overcook or it might scorch. Stir until smooth then stir in the vanilla. Drizzle the chocolate mixture over the pork rinds a little at a time, gently tossing before drizzling with more chocolate. Be careful not to break up the pork rinds. Toss and stir until the pork rinds are completely coated or as well as possible. Spread them out on a wax paper lined baking sheet and dust with half of the Splenda. Turn each piece over and dust with the remaining Splenda. Chill until the chocolate has set completely and store in an airtight container. I put mine in the freezer to help it set up more quickly. You may want to store it in the refrigerator to keep the chocolate from getting sticky.

Puppy Chow for our HUMAN kids!
Looking for a way to share some puppy love with your human loved ones? While looking for fun holiday treats to make, we came across this recipe for Puppy Chow (the human kind :)) that was posted over at Moms Who Think. We can't wait to make some and thought you might like the recipe too! Enjoy!
This is the original puppy chow recipe that kids love. It's a tasty sweet snack that's super easy to make. Peanut butter and chocolate are a great combination, and the addition of crispy cereal makes this the perfect blend of flavors and textures. This is a great snack for after school, movie nights, or any time you want to make a special treat that takes almost no time to make.
It may look like real puppy chow, but this puppy chow recipe is guaranteed to taste a whole lot better! Remember, this is a humans only recipe because it contains chocolate. Never give any of this puppy chow to your puppy or dog, as chocolate can make them very sick. A good alternative to puppy chow is the old favorite chex mix recipe that is just as easy, but gives you a salty instead of a sweet treat.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Peanut Butter
1/4 cup Butter
1 cup Chocolate Chips
1/2 tsp. Vanilla
9 cups Crispix cereal (any flavor)
1-1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
Instructions:
1. Combine peanut butter, butter and chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl.
2. Microwave for one minute then stir to blend all ingredients thoroughly. Add 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Stir well.
3. Place the 9 cups of Crispix cereal in a very large bowl.
4. Pour the peanut butter-chocolate mixture over the cereal and toss evenly, making sure all the cereal gets a good covering.
5. Coat with powdered sugar, sprinkling evenly over the cereal and tossing as you sprinkle to cover each piece well.

Some Christmas Fun ~ Getting to Know You
Have you started your Christmas shopping?
Yes, not done yet though!
Tell me about one of your special traditions.
Well, my kids put out their socks for St. Nick on December 5th at night so St. Nick will leave them some goodies. St. Nick's Day December 6
Are you a Black Friday Shopper?
No! But, I want too.
When do you put up your Tree?
Usually 2 weeks before Christmas.
Do you Travel at Christmas or Stay home?
Stay at home, but we do go about 1 hr away on Christmas Eve and travel 30 minutes to Grandpa's on Christmas day. Yes, I'm from Missouri, we do minutes not miles lol.
What is your funniest Christmas memory?
At the time it wasn't funny, but now is. My brother got so drunk on Christmas Eve I had to drive him home in his car while him puking in his own car and me yelling at him not to get the puke on the kids lol.
What is your favorite Christmas Movie of All time?
All of the little Christmas shows they play on Nick. My all time fav is Chip N Dale Christmas, not for sure what the title is, but I remember watching it as a kid. I cannot for the life of me find it anywhere.
Do you do your own Christmas Baking, what’s your favorite treat?
I do some. Apple Pie, Sugar Cookies maybe some banana bread.
Fake or Real Tree?
Use to be real, but turned to fake because of allergies and the cost.
What day (as a mom) does the actual panic set in to get it all done?
Christmas Eve night trying to get all the presents wrapped lol
Are you still wrapping presents on Christmas Eve?
Yes!
What is your favorite family fun time at Christmas?
Opening presents in the morning! I love seeing the smiles on my kids faces.
What Christmas craft do you like the best?
Baking lol
Christmas music. Yes or No, and if yes What is your favorite song?
Love the oldie music! Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer is my fav! I really love Christmas songs at church, Like Gloria and Ode to Joy!
When do you plan to finish all your shopping?
When time lets me lol, but before Christmas Eve.
